Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Homes England / Cratus Communications is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some areas of page have low contrast which can make it content based within difficult to read or to adjust for better visibility using freely available accessibility tools. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 (Minimum).

We plan to adjust our colours and contrast sitewide by January 2022.

Disproportionate burden

It’s not always possible to change the device orientation from horizontal to vertical without making it more difficult to view the content.

It’s not possible for users to change text size without some of the content overlapping.

Interactive tools and transactions

Our interactive content on The Site page can be difficult to navigation via just the keyboard. This is because the feature has been designed to give a 3D representation of the area and requires a click and drag method to pan and zoom.

The interactive drone footage was built and hosted through third party software from an external studio and has been embedded into our site to match the look and feel.

We’ve assessed the cost of fixing these issues not just within the drone footage but site wide where interactive content is present. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when the supplier contract is up for renewal or when we reach a major milestone in the development later in 2022.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

We currently do not offer any documents for download on our website but in the future if we they are essential to providing our services and information we will make sure they meet accessibility standards.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any documents that are uploaded that were published before this date will not be updated unless we feel they are key information in relation to the project.

Video Content

We do not plan to add captions to webinars or live video content streamed or published on this website. Youtube does offer automatic captions for videos uploaded to their service and will make sure these are available where possible. We can not guarantee the quality of these captions.

Live webinars & streams are exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
