Homes England is asking the public’s opinion on redevelopment proposals for the former Kleeneze site off Anstey’s Road in Hanham. Draft plans have been drawn up to revitalise the site, and the project team, who are working to submit an outline planning application to South Gloucestershire Council later this year, are looking for the local community’s views and suggestions in order to put the best possible proposals forward.
Development Manager John Boutwood of Homes England said: “The aim is to create a vibrant new community comprising a broad range of much-needed homes, suitable for a wide range of people in different stages of their life. 35% of the homes will be affordable, in line with the Council’s housing policy. We will also provide flexible commercial or community space. This project represents a unique opportunity for Hanham and we are keen to hear what local people think.”
The plans were first launched and presented at an online consultation event on Thursday 17th June 2021. Members of the public were invited to attend and meet the project team, provide feedback and ask any questions they may have. Members of the public who are not online are welcome to provide comments through a response card delivered house-to-house in the local area. They can contact the project’s Freephone number 0800 25 45 185 and Freepost address Freepost Middlemarch Consultation.
